Robert Scoble is probably the most influential tech guru, who wasn’t born out of the Tech TV/G4 backlash. Many consider the guy a genious, many others diss his every move. Either way, you can’t deny he’s a very popular guy.
Robert was in London for a few days, so he sent out a Tweet to see who’d be interested in meeting up for dinner. 48 people RSVP’d, with only 30 places at the chosen restaurant. Mirraculously, exactly 30 people turned up. We all met at the Hilton hotel, and went to the Lebanese restaurant accross the road.
The food was great, in fact most of us were stuffed by the time our main courses arrived. The conversation was expectedly geeky – which is a good thing ;D. There were some interesting people, and it made a very good night. I’ll be looking out for other similar events in the future.
Robert Scoble is a safe guy, very easy to talk to.
Here’s to a great night.
