Brighton

by Calvin Robinson on May 9, 2009.

Just arrived back in London after a great weekend in Brighton. Net Communities took all the staff down to Brighton on Thursday, we went to the dogs that night – I’ve never been dog racing before, so that was an experience. We all had far too much to drink (don’t mix vodka and beer, we learnt that on Thursday night) and ended up in a gay bar opposite our hotel. We didn’t know it was a gay club when we got there, but the bouncer was like “You’ve been here before, haven’t you boys” o_O what he meant by that I’m not sure, but he told us it was “girls-on-top: lesbian night” ahh.

It was like another dimension. Honestly, I’ve never seen so many homosexual people in one place at once, in fact I’ve probably never seen that many homosexuals in the entireity of my life. Certainly an experience.

Friday morning (and for the rest of the day) we were all knackered, which was unfortunate, because this was the day everyone was giving their presentations about the company. Reflecting on the past year, and where we’re going in the future. Despite our tiredness, it was a really motivating day. I’m looking forward to getting back to work on Monday. I think we’re all fresh with ideas and we’ll all be more productive because of it.

The boss put us all up in a really nice 4star hotel, and a few of us stayed Friday night too. Today I walked down the pier, sat reading my book while watching the world go by, breathing in the sea air, so relaxing. I met up with Martin and Emma, then later Babac and Christine, and we just chilled on the beach mostly, before having a beautiful dinner at a Thai restaurant they’d been to before.

I just got home, so tired. Cba to write a ‘proper’ blog post, but I’ll expand and add pictures later. Peace.
