I shamefully (mister I don’t believe in censorship) removed my Jamaica post for a day. I didn’t want it to come across as tact-less, but it was my honest feelings of my holiday. I’ve always been proud of my heritage, and I am still very proud to be British Jamaican. However I didn’t want my post to look like a bashing of any kind, or a disrespect to any of my Jamaican friends, bloggers or family. I don’t think the post is any of these things really, therefore I’ve put it back, just the way it was. Think of it (and me) what you will
It took me many years to stop clinging to my Jamaican side, and embrace my whole identity. This is a pretty recent thing (which frequent readers will probably have fathomed). I feel I have finally found a balance in myself, and in my life. I share two cultures, but one identity. That’s what I was originally searching for when I moved to London. And although I really enjoyed my time in Jamaica, it’s always good to be back Home in London.
By the way I love the Jamaican style writing in this top road sign – you have to say it with an accent lol. The second sign could be a condom advert?
