It’s that time of year again. For some reason it’s always spring/summer when I get invites to Beta test the latest upcoming MMORPGs. This year I’m testing Fallen Earth and Jumpgate Evolution.

Fallen Earth looked promsing at first, a nice sci-fi mmo start, the introduction was quite decent. However once I exited the tutorial into the real world, I lost all interest. It wasn’t so much post appocolyptic as it was barren desert land. Go-to missions with static, lifeless NPCs was too boring.
Jumpgate however has a really nice game world, the graphics are pretty enough, although surprisingly not as high as the old EVE Online. I do prefer Jumpgate’s twitch-based combat system, as opposed to the regular point-and-click combat of most old MMOs, but twitch-based combat is nothing new these days – the novelty has worn off. I don’t think this game will be much competition for the highly anticipated (for me, anyway) Black Prophecy
. There are quite a few space mmos coming out as of late though, so it’ll be interesting to see how things go.
I’ll write proper reviews on God is a Geek at a later date. Haven’t had much time for blogging lately, this is my final month of Uni (yay!).
