Not sure if I dig religion. Organised religion. Not even Jesus hung with that many people. Surely everyone has their own right and wrong way to worship and lives by that?

Agree we need something to engender a community however. I think that's what's missing. A reason not to simply do each other over. Some places it's religion, others it's a central 'dream'. Either way it's a shared experience that binds where various other factors divide.

I don't agree with you.

Many people are saying the same of the US... Religion hasn't helped us here. If anything, it suppresses needed sex ed and also education about drugs. Many religious types feel the need to bury their heads in the sand about drugs, sex and drinking, so their kids don't hear anything about it... Kids don't know what they're doing, and (girls especially) go farther than they would normally go.

The other problem is the double-standard (slut-stud mentality). Women aren't allowed to sleep around because that's wrong and immoral! But, guys, go ahead!

I don't know if religion is actually the thing that will work. I think people need to take charge of their own behavior. Parents need to take responsibility for their children and their education and teach them right from wrong.

I was not raised in a church... I know of people that were, and they have more sex and do more drugs than I do. (I don't do drugs, but I do drink; however I am also of age to be able to do those things legally.)

Morality should not be legislated, nor should religion.

Amy
