Quidco FTL

by Calvin Robinson on October 16, 2008.

I’m going to stop using Quidco.

The idea is cool, when you buy things online, go through their recommendation system, and they’ll give you money back from your orders.

The catch is that you only get money back once your Quidco account reaches a certain amount. Not only that, but Quidco charge a #5 GBP annual fee.
Now considering that most of the cashback amounts are in the pennies, this is rediculous.
You’re not making yourself money, you’re making Quidco money!

I spend a lot of money online. And when I use a service that works with Quidco, I try to go through their site. However since April 2007 I’ve only earnt just under #10 GBP in my account. Today I got charged the annual fee for both this year and last year. Now I have to start all over again.

So this is why I have quit using the website. It’s a joke.

  • Hi Calvin, I'm sorry to hear you're considering leaving Quidco, but I did want to clarify a minor point, please.

There is no minimum payout amount at Quidco unless the member chooses to change it from the default amount (£0.00) in their account settings. :)

With regard to the admin fee, that's in place to keep the site going, as we pass on to our members the entire commission we receive for their purchases made through Quidco.

Also you might be interested in checking out some of the larger offers that most of our members are taking advantage of, such as up to £90 off home insurance or some mobile phone contracts just now. You can see at a glance the highest offer amounts and percentages by clicking on the "Amount" and "Percent" tabs at http://www.quidco.com/browse/

    Kind regards,
    Carol
