Why I love Plantronics

A few years ago I bought a Plantronics DSP-400 USB Headset.

I went with USB because back then my audio card had some feedback coming through the mic socket, I hadn’t had much luck with mics.

This headset is perfect for gaming. The sound quality is amaizing, and being foldable, it’s an easy accessory to LAN Parties and such.

Between being tossed onto the desk after losing matches in CS, and the cables being ran over constantly by my wheely desk chair, this headset tends to break about once a year.
Everytime the headset breaks, I used to call Plantronics and they’d e-mail me a printable returns sheet, get me to return the headset, then a month later I’d recieve a new one.

These days I simply log into their website, print the sheet myself and send off the headset. One week later, I have a brand spanking new headset. Even though they don’t sell this model anymore. It’s beautiful :D

This time the headset has slightly changed too – it is now a regular headset, but with a small USB-dongle soundcard. Tbh I’m impressed by this, because it makes USB audio option. These days my PC is much, much better, and I don’t really have a need for USB soundcards, but sometimes it’s nice to have the option.

The DSP-400 is a lot shinier now, a sexy shiny black that looks good sitting on the desk next to my iPhone. The volume controll has been redesigned too, which will work out better in the long run, as this is what tended to break down somtimes.

Gotta love Plantronics. One loyal customer here.
